In Murmansk, a former employee of the logistics and technical support department of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergency Ministry (EMERCOM) and his accomplice are suspected of fraud. Criminal cases have been opened under Part 3 of Article 159 and Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

«In 2023, the suspects facilitated the Main Directorate of the Emergency Ministry’s conclusion of a contract with an individual entrepreneur, who was a close relative of the accomplice, for engine replacement in a service vehicle. Knowing full well that the latter had not performed the work, they ensured the signing of the acceptance certificate and payment,» the Murmansk Region Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The damage caused to the Russian Emergency Ministry amounted to more than 75,000 rubles (approximately $750 at current rates).

The criminal activity was uncovered in cooperation with officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB). Investigative actions are underway. The suspects face up to 6 and 5 years in prison, respectively.
