Former Bashkiria veterans head Marat Mullagalyamov dies

Marat Mullagalyamov, former chairman of the Republic of Bashkortostan's veterans council, has passed away at the age of 95. A farewell ceremony is scheduled for January 28.

A farewell ceremony will be held in Bashkiria on January 28 for Marat Mullagalyamov, the former head of the republic«s war veterans council, ex-deputy director of Bashneft, and former deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Bashkir ASSR. He died the previous day at the age of 96.

«The republic»s veterans are deeply grieving and express sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Marat Sabitovich!« noted Mullagalyamov»s colleagues.

He served as chairman of the Bashkir Republican Council of Veterans of War, Labor, the Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement Agencies from 1997 to 2015. He was deputy head of the Council of Ministers of the Bashkir ASSR from 1979 to 1986. Earlier, Mullagalyamov graduated from an aviation institute (now Ufa State Aviation Technical University, part of the University of Science and Technology), and later worked as a mechanical engineer at the Ufa Engine Industrial Association (UMPO).

He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the «Badge of Honor,» «For Contribution to Victory,» and the Salawat Yulayev award. The farewell ceremony will be held at 2 Tsvetochnaya Street at 10:00. The veteran will be buried in his native village of Sermenevo in the Beloretsky District.
