Foreign car kills moose in Samara Oblast

On the night of Tuesday, February 3, a road accident occurred in Samara Oblast involving a wild animal. It died from its injuries. The accident happened in the Isaklinsky District.
«On February 3 at 01:10, a 33-year-old driver in a Škoda Rapid was traveling on the M-5 »Ural« highway towards Ufa. At 1147.19 km, in an area marked with a »Wild Animals« road sign, he failed to choose a safe speed and hit a moose that suddenly started crossing the roadway. The driver was hospitalized from the accident scene to the traumatology department (intensive care). The moose died at the scene of the accident,» reported the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Samara Oblast.
A similar incident occurred two months ago in the Volzhsky District as well. On the A-300 highway Samara – Bolshaya Chernigovka near the village of Podyom-Mikhailovka, a driver in a VAZ-2109 hit a moose. The car veered into a ditch, and a passenger in the vehicle was injured. He was hospitalized. The animal died at the scene of the accident.
