Ford vs VAZ collision kills driver in Otrādny

A driver was killed in a head-on collision between a Ford and a VAZ in Otrādny, Samara Oblast, on Saturday, January 31. Three others were injured and hospitalized.

It happened at 15:20 at the 86.9-kilometer mark of the Samara–Buguruslan highway, within the city of Otrādny. Two vehicles were involved in the accident: a domestic car and a foreign car.

The Ford vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane before colliding with the VAZ.

«According to preliminary data, the 42-year-old driver of a Ford car entered the oncoming lane in a place where it is permitted and collided with a VAZ-2110 car driven by a man born in 1974,» the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Samara Oblast reported.

In the head-on collision, the driver of the Ford was killed. Three injured people from the domestically produced car were taken to the hospital. Police officers continue to establish all the circumstances of the accident.

On the same day, another accident with similar circumstances occurred in the Volzhsky District of the oblast. In the morning accident, a 6-year-old child was injured.
