Flooding in Novopokrovskoye after water main break

A break in the water supply network in the Ankudinovsky Park area has caused flooding in the village of Novopokrovskoye in Nizhny Novgorod. According to eyewitnesses, the damaged utilities belong to a private organization, which has already started emergency repairs.

«The road to the houses on Preobrazhenskaya Street has been flooded, and the water is approaching the fences of residential houses and continues to rise,» one local resident said.

The city mayor«s office explained that the accident occurred on a 60 cm diameter water main operated by the company »Nizhegorodskiye Tekhnologii Vodopolzovaniya« (Nizhny Novgorod Water Use Technologies). Water supply in this section has been completely shut off. The repair work is planned to be completed on Friday, and an inspection of the road surface condition is also scheduled.

The administration of the Sovetsky District added that municipal roads in Novopokrovskoye are not flooded. The water has partially flooded the territory of the individual developers« association »Novoye Pokrovskoye«. The situation is under constant control; if necessary, municipal equipment will be used to help.
