Five-hour drone threat in Voronezh region triggers sirens in two areas overnight

A drone attack alert was in effect for over five hours in Voronezh region overnight, with sirens sounding in two municipalities as authorities warned of direct strikes.

The threat of drone attacks in Voronezh region was in effect all night from January 24 to 25: it was announced at 23:52 the previous day and cancelled at 05:10 in the morning. In total, the high alert mode for air defense forces lasted more than five hours.

During this time, a direct drone strike threatened two municipalities. At 01:13, air raid sirens woke residents of Rossoshansky district, and at two o«clock in the morning, they were activated in Buturlinovsky district. Governor Alexander Gusev reported the all-clear in both districts at 03:11, but the threat of attacks across the entire region remained for another two hours. At the time of publication, the operational situation in Voronezh region is calm, and there was no information from authorities about downed drones or consequences.

According to the Defense Ministry, from 08:00 to 20:00 on Saturday, January 24, a total of nine Ukrainian drones were eliminated over Russian territory: five over Belgorod region and four over Kursk region. Update. According to the Defense Ministry, on the night of January 25, 52 drones were destroyed over six regions of Russia. Voronezh region is not on the list. The most drones were eliminated over Bryansk region — 18. Over Krasnodar Krai, 15 drones were shot down; over Rostov region — nine; over Oryol region — four; and three each over Belgorod and Astrakhan regions.
