First-Floor Apartment Fire in Yekaterinburg Building

A fire covering 25 square meters broke out on the night of February 4. Rescuers evacuated 20 people from the building.

On the night of February 4, a fire broke out in an apartment on the first floor of a multi-story building at 39/2 Ilyulskaya Street in the Pionersky microdistrict of Yekaterinburg.
As a result, residents were evacuated from the building. «Five people evacuated on their own from the upper floors. Another 15 people were taken out of the smoke-filled entrance using rescue devices,» rescuers reported.
At the time the fire started, three people were in the apartment and managed to leave on their own. However, a pet dog that remained inside died.
The fire covered an area of 25 square meters. Six pieces of special equipment and 25 personnel were involved in extinguishing the fire.
