Fire in Shumikha Residential Building Claims Two Lives
A fire in a residential building in Shumikha, Kurgan Oblast, has killed two people, with the preliminary cause linked to electrical equipment violations.

Two people died in a fire in Kurgan Oblast. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) for Kurgan Oblast, the fire broke out in the city of Shumikha on January 24: a four-apartment residential building caught fire. While extinguishing the blaze, Russian MChS employees found the body of a 65-year-old man; the identity of the second victim is being established.

The fire, covering 20 square meters, was extinguished by 8 specialists and 2 units of equipment. The preliminary cause of the fire is related to violations of the rules for the installation and operation of electrical equipment.
The MChS urges residents of the Trans-Urals region to regularly check the condition of wiring and the functionality of electrical appliances, not to overload the electrical network, and not to leave electrical appliances turned on overnight or when leaving home.
