Fire destroys family home in northern Volgograd, one dead

In the Traktorozavodsky district of Volgograd, a fire destroyed a private house on Vilnius Street. The fire engulfed two rooms and the roof. Three people lived in the house. A 75-year-old pensioner did not manage to escape.

Information about the emergency was reported by readers of V1.RU. They also shared photos from the scene where employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) were working. According to them, the fire broke out in the morning of February 2, but by lunchtime, fire trucks were still stationed at the house.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Volgograd region clarified: the fire was extinguished in an hour and a half. There were casualties.

At 09:58, a report of a fire in the Traktorozavodsky district was received. In a wooden house, two rooms and the wooden roof sheathing were burning on a total area of 70 square meters. Units of the 1st Fire and Rescue Station extinguished the fire at 11:18. A man born in 1950 died. The cause of the fire is being established, the department responded.
According to a source from V1.RU familiar with the situation, a family of three lived in the house. The fire occurred due to careless smoking by the deceased man. The other two people survived and did not require medical assistance.
Earlier, a major fire at the Tulak wholesale construction market in the Sovetsky district destroyed at least five pavilions where construction materials, plumbing, and other items were sold. The fire broke out on the evening of January 27 and was only extinguished around 3 a.m. on January 28. We showed the consequences of the emergency in a separate video.
