Fire breaks out in Kemerovo shopping center: 120 people evacuated

Kemerovo rescuers extinguished a fire at the «Ya» shopping center on Kuznetsky Avenue in Kemerovo. The fire started from cable products, the city administration«s press service reported on social media on Sunday, January 25.

The fire broke out in the entrance area and spread over two square meters. All visitors evacuated on their own, after which firefighters quickly put out the flames.

The press service of the Kuzbass Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) clarified to the NGS42.RU editorial office that there were no casualties. The cause of the fire at the «Ya» shopping center could have been a short circuit. Preliminary, the electrical equipment and networks in the entrance area were operating in emergency mode.

Twelve rescuers and three units of equipment were dispatched to the scene.

On social media, residents are posting footage from the parking lot in front of the shopping center. Several fire trucks can be seen at the scene.

Recently, after a major fire, the «Laplandia» shopping mall opened. Fortunately, no one was injured in that incident, but an inspection revealed that the signage on the facade was made of flammable materials, and there were problems with emergency exits.
