Fire Breaks Out at Auto Repair Shop Near Technical College in Uralmash
A fire broke out in an auto repair shop building on Mashinostroiteley Street in Yekaterinburg«s Uralmash district. A black column of smoke was visible several kilometers from the scene.
Rescue workers who arrived at the scene promptly removed a gas cylinder from the burning premises, eliminating the threat of an explosion, and evacuated one car.
The press service of the regional Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) reported: «The fire and rescue units that arrived at the scene established that a fire was burning inside the auto repair shop building. According to operational information, the fire area is 80 square meters.»
The Kurochkin Technical College is located not far from the fire site. Staff at the educational institution confirmed that the evacuation of students and personnel was not required.
Eyewitnesses noted that due to the dense black smoke, it was initially difficult to determine the exact source of the fire. Other commercial organizations are located near the auto repair shop.
