Fatal Traffic Accident Case in Yaroslavl Sent to Court
The criminal case on the fatal traffic accident has been sent to court in Yaroslavl.
The prosecutor«s office has sent to court the materials of the criminal case against a 25-year-old resident of Yaroslavl. He is accused of committing a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of Oktyabrya Avenue and Respublikanskaya Street.
An accident occurred at an intersection near the police building, in which a young woman died.
The collision occurred on the night of December 13, 2025. Surveillance camera footage shows a Lada Priora car crashing into a Lada Granta at high speed. From the strong impact, the Granta is spun around on the roadway.
The prosecutor«s office transferred the materials of the criminal case on the fatal accident to court.
«According to the prosecution, the man, driving a Lada Priora, was traveling along Oktyabrya Avenue and at the intersection with Respublikanskaya Street collided with a Lada Granta. As a result of the accident, the 21-year-old passenger of the Lada Granta died at the scene from her injuries,» commented the prosecutor«s office.
The driver of the Priora has been charged under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules resulting in negligent death). The maximum penalty under this article provides for up to five years of imprisonment.
The specified intersection is considered a high-risk area. For example, in October 2024, another serious accident occurred here involving Lada and Opel cars, as a result of which a young driver was injured.
