Fatal snow accidents in Atkarsk and Saratov region

Tragic incidents occurred on Sunday when snowfalls resumed across the region. In Atkarsk, relatives found a 46-year-old man dead under the snow-covered roof of a private house. In Saratov, snow and ice collapsed from a multi-story building onto a six-year-old child. This was reported by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Saratov Region.

Presumably, the man«s death in Atkarsk was caused by the collapse of an iron structure under the weight of snow. His body was found by relatives on the property of a private house on Lunacharsky Street in Atkarsk. Investigators from the Investigative Committee have conducted a scene inspection and are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

In Saratov, a criminal case has been initiated over the injury of a minor. It has been preliminarily established that snow and ice fell from the roof of an apartment building on Panchenko Street onto a six-year-old girl. With a skull fracture and brain contusion, she is in a regional children«s medical facility.
