Fatal Crash on Tyumen-KhMAO Highway Involving Gazelle
A serious accident occurred on the night of February 2-3 on the Tyumen-Khanty-Mansiysk highway in the Yarkovsky district. There, at the 177th kilometer, a moving vehicle crashed into a parked one on the shoulder. Unfortunately, there were casualties.
“A GAZ vehicle ran into a stationary heavy truck Mercedes-Benz with a semi-trailer, which had made an emergency stop due to a breakdown. As a result, the 54-year-old driver of the Gazelle, a resident of Chelyabinsk Oblast, died from his injuries,” reported the press service of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
It is also known that the truck driver was not injured. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated.
Among the most common causes of accidents are violation of right-of-way, failure to maintain distance or speed limits. Also, drivers often violate rules at pedestrian crossings and drive drunk.
