Famous inventor Alexei Kolomiyets dies in Nizhny Novgorod at 88

In Nizhny Novgorod today, Professor Alexei Kolomiyets of the Department of Foundations, Foundations and Engineering Geology at Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU), a doctor of technical sciences and geologist, has died. This was reported by the university«s press service.
Alexei Kolomiyets was a major Russian scientist in the field of drilling technology and equipment. He also developed an important drilling technology for wells and a number of other discoveries. He had 32 inventions and patents, 10 scientific books, and a large number of articles in scientific journals.
Moreover, Alexei Markovich was awarded various state awards, including the Order «For Merit to the Fatherland» IV degree, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and others.
«For NNGASU, this is an irreplaceable loss. We lost not only a talented scientist but also a man of rare internal culture,» the press service concluded.
The farewell to the professor will take place on February 1 at 12:15 at Bugrovskoe Cemetery.
