In the Proletarsky District of Tula, investigators have initiated a criminal case following the death of a worker during work. The investigation is being conducted under the article on violation of safety rules during construction and other works.

The tragedy occurred on January 21, 2026, on Kutuzov Street. Work was being done to replace heating pipes. During the process, a fitter found himself in the working area of machinery— he was hit by the moving bucket of an excavator. The man fell into the dug trench and died on the spot from his injuries.

Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of what happened. Witnesses and specialists are being questioned, necessary documentation is being seized and studied, and forensic examinations have been appointed.

Earlier we reported that underground utilities burst in the central Belousov Park. The burst occurred in the area of the sports complex and bike path on the park«s territory.

In addition, an investigation was launched in Plavsk after reports of stray dog attacks on people and pets. The information was received by the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Tula Region— residents complained about the increasing cases of aggressive animal behavior.
