Ex-footballer pawns rented sound equipment amid 300,000 ruble debt

A Yekaterinburg resident has filed a police report against Maxim Yamalatdinov — a former footballer who for years has been renting expensive equipment, not paying, and returning nothing. We first wrote about his scheme back in 2022. Since then, complaints against him have continued.

As Timofey told E1.RU, he saw the publications about Yamalatdinov too late.

In November of last year, he rented out expensive sound equipment worth 110,000 rubles (approximately $1,200 at current rates) to Maxim, and later found it put up for sale in a pawnshop.

‘I was deceived by the repeat offender scammer Maxim Yamalatdinov. After two months, I found my sound kit, which I rented to him, in a pawnshop on Shchorsa Street yesterday. The kit cost 110,000 rubles (about $1,200), and the unpaid rent since November is over 300,000 rubles (about $3,300),’ Timofey said.

The Yekaterinburg resident filed a police report, and E1.RU confirmed that it has been accepted and an investigation is underway. However, Timofey fears that his property might be bought out in the meantime.

‘I filed a request for the urgent seizure of the kit from the pawnshop, but no one is doing anything. My kit is still for sale in this office, it could be bought at any minute. The console has already been sold,’ the Yekaterinburg resident added.

In December, Maxim promised Timofey to partially settle the debt and write a receipt, but he never did so.

In 2023, dozens of people had already complained about Yamalatdinov, but a year later he continued to operate using the same scheme. One of the victims provided a recording of a conversation with Maxim, where he can be heard saying: ‘Go to court and so on — you won’t get anything, do you understand that?’
