Ex-Bodaybo Mayor in Fatal Crash, Three Dead

In the Kazachinsko-Lensky District, a fatal road traffic accident occurred involving the former head of Bodaybo urban settlement, Alexander Dubkov. The accident happened late in the evening on January 20 in the area of the settlement of Okunaysky. The road accident was reported by the Telegram channel «Bodaybo City», and the fact of the car accident was confirmed by «IrCity» in the State Traffic Inspectorate of Irkutsk Region.

According to preliminary data, Alexander Dubkov was heading to Irkutsk in his personal car Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. On the way, he dropped off his family at the train and continued alone. A Lexus car came towards him, whose driver started to overtake. A head-on collision occurred.

In the Lexus, there were three people – two men and a woman. The men died at the scene. The woman in serious condition was taken to the hospital in the settlement of Magistralny, but on the way she died from her injuries. Alexander Dubkov turned out to be the only survivor.

«Yesterday, I personally called the Unified Duty Dispatch Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs department of Kazachinsko-Lensky District, as well as the emergency room of the Kazachinsko-Lenskaya Central District Hospital. Today, I called the hospital again, and they confirmed that Alexander Dubkov has already been transferred from intensive care to the emergency room. His condition has stabilized,» told the correspondent of «IrCity» the deputy of the Bodaybo Duma, Sergey Dyakonov.

The circumstances and causes of the accident are being established.

Alexander Dubkov was elected head of Bodaybo urban settlement in 2012. At that time, he was a self-nominated candidate. In 2022, he lost the election to United Russia member Alexei Botvin.
