‘Everything is on fire!’: One killed in major Perm sawmill fire

Fire engulfed an area measuring 1,200 square meters.
A sawmill on Panova Street in Perm caught fire on the night of January 25. One person was killed in the fire.
A glowing blaze was visible from a distance.
The first footage from the sawmill fire appeared on social media.
‘Everything is on fire! The sawmill is burning,’ an eyewitness said.
The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the Perm Krai reported a fire at a sawmill on Panova Street at 00:06 on January 25, involving a burning metal hangar. Forty-one EMERCOM personnel and 11 fire engines worked for two hours to extinguish the blaze. The ministry confirmed one fatality. EMERCOM is investigating the cause of the fire.
