Energy Company Reports Completion of Heat Pipeline Repair in Darasun
General Director of the joint-stock company «Energy» Vladimir Bulkin reported on January 23 that almost all repair work on the heat pipeline in Darasun village, Karymsky District of Zabaykalsky Krai, where an accident occurred on January 21, has been completed.
AO «Energy» is not the owner of the boiler house in Darasun, but is assisting in solving the problem at the request of the regional Ministry of Housing and Communal Services. Similarly, as when there were heating problems in Atamanovka, other companies helped.
«The joint-stock company »Energy« had five welding teams working — one from Shilka, two teams from Borzya, and two teams from Chita. The main task was to lay a main network with a diameter of 219, about 50 meters to each other. Accordingly, our task was to tap into two manholes and install the main network itself. We have completed this task,» said Bulkin.
He noted that the welders have a couple of touches left to do, after which the main network will be launched.
«This is the main task for the accident that happened in Darasun. To ensure heat supply by localizing the accident on the main network. About 20 people are working and three units of equipment,» added Bulkin.
Residents of Darasun reported to Chita.Ru correspondent that it is cold in their homes — the temperature is dropping lower and lower, in some places no more than +5 degrees Celsius (41°F), and windowsills have started to freeze over.
The boiler house in Darasun is maintained by LLC «Darasun Energy Company» owned by Vladimir Zabelin, who is a well-known entrepreneur and political figure in Zabaykalsky Krai; from 2014 to 2016 he was the head of the Chita administration. He also owns and manages several dozen other companies, including the controversial LLC «Teploenergoservis» — the boiler house of the Machine Plant in Chita, whose consumers were switched to central heating from TGC-14 in 2025.
It was not possible to obtain a comment from Vladimir Zabelin at the time of publication.
Residents of Darasun complained about cooling radiators on January 21, when a rupture occurred on the main heat pipeline. 17 apartment buildings and a secondary school were left without heat. Initially, the rupture was patched with clamps, and at night the houses were connected via a backup scheme. Since applying clamps did not help, it was decided to lay a new section of pipeline above. Five welding teams from the company AO «Energy» went to eliminate the accident.
In the village on January 22, an emergency regime was introduced due to the accident on the heat pipeline, as a threat to the well-being of residents emerged. In the village, volunteers were needed to help go around apartments to bleed air from radiators. EMERCOM employees brought heat guns to the village to maintain temperature in entrances. They were also needed to heat half of the dormitory at Pochtovaya, 2. In addition, a temporary accommodation point in Karymskoye village with a capacity of 120 people was put on standby.
