Electrical Fault Caused Fire That Killed One in Bor Village

The preliminary cause of the fire in Bor village, Nekrasovsky District, has been revealed. The incident occurred on January 24.

«The preliminary cause is an emergency mode of the electrical network. An inspection is being conducted into the fire,» said the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MЧС) for the Yaroslavl Region.

Recall that the report of the fire was received by rescuers on January 24 at 03:18. 24 firefighters and 7 units of equipment arrived at the scene. The fire was extinguished in 11 hours. The complete elimination of the fire was reported at 14:25.

The fire destroyed a house with an area of 150 square meters. In the fire, a 57-year-old man died, and a 61-year-old woman was injured.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MЧС Russia) reminds how to protect oneself from fire:

  • check wiring in a timely manner;
  • do not operate faulty household appliances;
  • entrust repairs only to professionals;
  • install a fire alarm.

Earlier, on January 21, for the same reason, a grocery store caught fire in Krasnye Tkachi. As reported by the department, the fire destroyed 10 meters of wiring and 12 square meters of the ceiling. The walls were smoked, as well as goods on an area of 64 square meters.
