A resident of Kurgan was hit by a car while crossing the road at a crosswalk. According to preliminary data from the Kurgan traffic police, the accident occurred on January 21 at 11:55 on Gogol Street near house No. 86.
A 67-year-old driver of a VAZ 21074 was driving along Gogol Street from Proletarskaya Street towards Savelev Street and went through a regulated crosswalk on a red traffic light.
At that time, a 66-year-old woman was crossing the roadway on a green traffic light. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized at the Kurgan Emergency Hospital.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds of the need to strictly adhere to traffic light signals by all road users.
