In Omsk, a 40-year-old man will be tried for knowingly making a false report of an act of terrorism. He faces up to five years in prison under this article. Details of the case were reported by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor«s Office.

According to investigators, in November last year, a resident of Omsk region called emergency services and reported that the airport building in the city was to be bombed. In fact, there was no danger. The man was drunk and decided to make a joke. He was quickly identified and detained.

«The accused, while intoxicated, out of hooligan motives, reported to the emergency service operator »112« about an impending explosion in the building of Omsk airport. Law enforcement officers identified and arrested the man at his place of residence.»

The criminal case has now been sent to the Sovetsky District Court, where it will be considered on the merits.
