In Udmurtia, a 58-year-old resident of the Alnashsky District will stand trial for hitting a girl while drunk, causing her serious harm to health. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Udmurt Republic.
The accident occurred on the evening of August 16 in the village of Chumali, Alnashsky District. The driver of a Kia Rio, while intoxicated, hit a 9-year-old girl who was walking on the roadway in the same direction, pushing a bicycle beside her. As a result of the accident, the schoolgirl sustained serious injuries.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2, Clause «a» of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, «Violation of traffic rules, resulting through negligence in serious harm to human health, committed by a person in a state of alcohol intoxication.»
As part of the investigation, necessary examinations and interrogations were conducted. The driver fully admitted his guilt. For his actions, he faces from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment. The case will be considered by the Mozhginsky District Court.
