Drone Threat Alert Declared in Volgograd Region

Authorities have declared a drone threat regime in the Volgograd region, advising residents to stay away from windows and avoid open areas on the streets.

A state of drone threat has been declared in the Volgograd region, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported via SMS alert.

The alert about the special situation was received at 04:43.

— Remain calm. Avoid open areas of the streets. Do not approach windows. Be attentive and cautious, — the message said.

As of the time of publication, there was no information from open sources about restrictions at Volgograd International Airport.

The drone threat regime was last introduced last week, on the night of January 21–22. The Ministry of Defense later reported that during that period, 4 drones were shot down over the region.

Along with the special regime that day, flights at the Gumrak airport were temporarily restricted. Because of this, passengers of a night flight to Dubai had to wait until morning for departure.
