A young driver caused a fatal collision with a pensioner in the city of Yaroslavl.

A fatal traffic accident occurred in Yaroslavl on the morning of January 24. A 78-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed.
Eyewitnesses captured video footage showing the consequences of the traffic accident.
The driver, who was operating a VAZ-2115 car, fled the scene. Later, it was revealed that he is an 18-year-old young man who himself contacted the law enforcement authorities. «The citizen independently came to the police department,» reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) department for Yaroslavl Region.
The accident occurred around 6:58 a.m. on Oktyabrya Avenue near house No. 65a. According to preliminary information, the pensioner was crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing against a red traffic light.
The impact was extremely strong: a boot flew off the victim«s foot, and a hat from her head. Near the body lay an object resembling a leash, suggesting that the woman had gone out for a walk with a dog. Death was pronounced before medics arrived.
