The court found the driver of a Renault Kaptur guilty of violating traffic rules, which negligently caused the death of a motorcyclist. He was sentenced to one and a half years in a settlement colony.

The accident occurred on the evening of May 31, 2024, on Kubinskaya Street near house 75. The motorist was driving in the left lane at a speed of 30–35 km/h and began a U-turn outside an intersection, without ensuring the maneuver«s safety and without yielding to a Kawasaki ZX-9R motorcycle. The latter was traveling straight in the oncoming lane at a speed of 110 km/h.

The motorcycle crashed into the side of the car. As a result, the rider sustained combined blunt trauma to the body and died at the scene. The Renault driver partially admitted guilt, stating that he did not see the biker because he was riding without headlights on and at a significantly excessive speed.

In addition to imprisonment, the court ordered the motorist to be deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of two years. He was also ordered to pay moral damages compensation to three victims — 700,000 rubles (approximately $7,800 at current rates) each.
