Driver rescued by emergency services: truck crashes into KAMAZ on Samara highway

A collision between two heavy trucks on the Samara-Buguruslan highway injured one driver, who was extricated by rescue teams and hospitalized after the Tuesday morning accident.

On Tuesday, January 20, an accident involving two heavy trucks occurred in the Kinel-Cherkassy district of the region. It happened at the 111.2-kilometer mark of the Samara–Buguruslan highway at 11:40.

The Shacman truck was driven by a 24-year-old driver involved in the accident.

«The driver, born in 2001, was driving a Shacman truck from Samara towards Buguruslan. He lost control and collided with a KAMAZ truck that was moving in the opposite direction,» reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Samara Region.

One driver lost control of his vehicle, leading to the collision with the other truck.

As a result of the accident, the 34-year-old driver of the KAMAZ truck was injured. He was hospitalized in the Kinel-Cherkassy Central District Hospital.

Firefighters and rescue specialists worked at the scene to free the injured driver from the cabin.

Also at the scene were employees of the Center for Civil Defense, Fire Safety, and Emergency Situations. Specialists disconnected the battery, extricated the injured driver from the cabin, and transferred him to an ambulance.

Another serious accident involving heavy trucks occurred at the beginning of January. In the Krasnoyarsk district, as many as three trucks collided. As a result, the driver died.
