Driver killed in head-on collision of two foreign cars in Altai Krai

On the evening of January 2 in Volchikhinsky District, two foreign cars were involved in a fatal traffic accident, according to the press service of the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
The accident occurred around 17:15 on the highway «Zmeinogorsk — Rubtsovsk — Volchikha — Mikhaylovskoye — Kulunda — Burla — border of Novosibirsk Region.» A 36-year-old driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling towards Volchikha from the direction of Novoyegoryevskoye.
At the 154 km mark, he moved into the oncoming lane to overtake and collided with a Toyota Premio driven by a 53-year-old man.
The driver of the Toyota died at the scene before the ambulance arrived. The 72-year-old passenger of the Hyundai was hospitalized.
