A fatal accident occurred in Georgiyevsky District due to a violation of traffic rules. The driver died after colliding with a tree.

According to the State Traffic Inspectorate of Stavropol Krai, yesterday, 27 January, around 19:00 on the Georgiyevsk-Novopavlovsk highway, the driver of a Lada Granta exceeded the speed limit, veered off the road, and crashed into a tree.

As a result, the 37-year-old resident of a neighboring region, who was driving the car, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene of the accident before the ambulance arrived. The severity of the consequences may have been influenced by the fact that he was not wearing a seatbelt.

It turned out that the man had about 11 years of driving experience. Over the past 2 years, he had been held administratively liable 9 times.

On the same day, another serious accident with casualties occurred in Trunovsky District. A 50-year-old driver of a Geely, while overtaking, did not ensure the safety of the maneuver and entered the oncoming lane. There, the Geely collided with a Lada Granta. Two people were hospitalized.
