Driver Crossed into Oncoming Lane in Fatal Bus Crash on Tyumen Highway
The passenger car was reduced to a heap of metal.
The traffic police have reported details of a fatal crash with a scheduled bus that occurred at night in the Isetsky District.
The bus sustained less damage, and the occupants escaped serious injuries.
‘At the 132nd kilometer of the Shadrinsk–Yalutorovsk highway, a FAW Besturn car and a bus collided. Preliminary reports indicate that the 59-year-old driver of the car drove into the oncoming lane. He died in the crash,’ the department reported.
It is known that the deceased was a resident of the village of Isetskoye.
The bus involved in the crash was traveling on the route Kirovsky – Kommunar – Isetskoye. At the time of the accident, there was only one passenger in the cabin. Neither the passenger nor the driver of the public transport were injured.
The circumstances of the tragedy are currently being investigated. The prosecutor«s office has organized an inspection of compliance with traffic safety legislation.
Among the most common causes of accidents are failure to yield, not maintaining distance, or speeding. Also, drivers often violate rules at pedestrian crossings and drive under the influence of alcohol.
