Dongfeng Truck Erupts in Flames After Highway Crash in Samara

A Dongfeng truck and a Volkswagen collided head-on on the M-5 'Ural' highway in Samara region early Friday, resulting in a fire that gutted the truck, officials said.

On the night of Friday, January 23, a serious traffic accident occurred in Samara region. It was reported by the Samara Region Center for Civil Defense, Fire Safety, and Emergency Situations (GKU SO Tsentr GO PB ChS).

Fire crews responded with two engines to extinguish the blaze at the accident site on the highway.

According to them, around 3:30 AM on the M-5 «Ural» highway in Isaklinsky district, a Dongfeng truck and a Volkswagen collided head-on. After the accident, one of the vehicles caught fire.

The intense fire completely destroyed the cab of the Dongfeng truck involved in the crash.

«A duty crew from fire and rescue unit No. 118, consisting of 5 personnel with two fire engines, was promptly dispatched to the scene. An ambulance team and traffic police officers were also called to the site,» explained representatives of the emergency department.
