A road traffic accident involving the deputy minister of forestry of Nizhny Novgorod Region occurred on January 29.

The incident took place at the 101st kilometer of the Yoshkar-Ola – Nizhny Novgorod highway in difficult weather conditions.

The official was in the passenger seat, and the car was driven by an employee of the Vyksa forestry.

According to the department, the driver made an emergency maneuver to avoid a collision with oncoming traffic, after which the car skidded onto the shoulder and was thrown into a snowdrift.

Both participants in the accident escaped with minor injuries that did not require sick leave documentation. The deputy minister continues to perform his duties.

Police did not draw up a report on an administrative offense since there was no violation of traffic rules. The ministry also clarified that the case does not fall under the Labor Code article on accidents.

To establish all the circumstances of the incident, appropriate commissions have been created in the Ministry of Forestry and the Vyksa forestry,
added the department.
