Daurya Village Water Supply Restored After 4-Day Outage

Full restoration of water supply is planned for residents of the village of Daurya in Zabaykalsky Krai, where it has been absent since January 19 due to a pipe break. This was reported on January 23 by the head of the district, Alexander Mochalov, to the correspondent of Chita.Ru.

‘Yesterday evening at 8:00 PM we started the water pipe. The pressure is 6 kilograms. The storage tanks were filled up to two meters overnight, the norm is 2.2. Yesterday, three houses were connected to the water supply. This morning we are connecting all the remaining houses,’ the district head said.

He noted that the heat supply was not affected, and the boiler house is operating normally: ‘Water was delivered by two water trucks. And yesterday, as a precaution, we brought in a fire train, which insured the boiler house.’

Meanwhile, in the village chat, residents write that there is still no water, and that there was allegedly an accident on the heating main as well.

The water supply issues in Daurya became known on January 19 — a leak was found on the water pipe, and water was shut off in the village during the repair work. On January 21, district head Alexander Mochalov said that the water supply was planned to be restored on the same day. The part of the settlement beyond the line was left without water — this is 13 apartment buildings. According to one of the local residents, due to low temperatures, distance learning was introduced in the school, and in the kindergarten, the temperature dropped to 16 degrees Celsius (61°F), which is why not all parents bring their children.
