Cuban citizen Ramires Oliva was placed under arrest by the decision of the Vyborg District Court in St. Petersburg. He is suspected of attempting to establish drug trafficking in the city. During a search, nearly two dozen packets of prohibited substances were seized from the man.

According to the investigation, Oliva did not act alone: he conspired with accomplices for selfish motives. Together, they stored 17 packets of narcotic substance, with three containing a mixture that included heroin. The group planned to sell these supplies but did not have time. The drugs were discovered and seized by police on 13 October 2025 during a search of one of the accomplices at a police station.

Ramires Oliva himself was detained later — on 20 January 2026. He was charged with attempted illegal sale of narcotics on a large scale. The suspect did not object to the investigation«s request for a preventive measure. As a result, the court ruled to keep him under arrest until 13 February.

This case has already led to the arrests of other Cuban citizens. In October 2025, in connection with the same 17 packets of drugs, two more people were taken into custody. Furthermore, in September 2025, another Cuban was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking. Earlier, in March and May 2025, law enforcement agencies also detained and arrested two people each in those months.
