The investigation into the criminal case against the former chairman of the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee has been completed; he is accused of negligence.

In November 2023, an individual entrepreneur from Kirovsk applied for a subsidy for the project «Guest Cottages of the Khibiny Tourist Complex.» However, he did not have rights to the land plot. The official did not check the documents and did not reject the application. As a result, the entrepreneur was allocated 22 million rubles (approximately $244,000 at current rates) from the budget for a project that was not implemented. This led to the disruption of events under the national project «Development of Tourist Infrastructure.»

The criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court.

Recall that the former head of the project department of the capital construction management in Murmansk was sentenced to 2.5 years of corrective labor for fictitious acts and damage of almost 25 million rubles (approximately $278,000 at current rates).
