Court Convicts Parachute Rescue Service Chief for Fraud

A court in Nizhny Novgorod has delivered a verdict against the chief of the parachute rescue service at a flight test base. The case was initiated following an inspection by the regional police department (MVD).
It was established that the accused, from 2017 to 2019, used his official position to process fake training jumps. In total, he signed documents confirming 468 jumps that never took place.
Based on these certificates, the service chief received monetary payments from the budget. The amount of illegal enrichment exceeded 2.2 million rubles (approximately $25,000).
The investigation classified his actions as fraud. The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment, suspended, with an identical probation period.
