Court chooses home arrest for teenager in shooting case
The Kalininsky District Court has chosen a preventive measure of home arrest for a 16-year-old teenager in a criminal case of hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code). The young man is accused of firing a shot near the Academ-Park trade and entertainment complex, which led to a woman being wounded.
The investigation established that the incident occurred on January 28. The teenager was at the entrance of the shopping complex from 10:00 AM to 7:15 PM. Out of hooligan motives, he fired from an object used as a weapon at a 22-year-old girl, who sustained a bruised wound to her cheek. These actions also caused alarm among other citizens.
Law enforcement agencies detained the suspect on January 29, and on January 30, he was charged. In court, the teenager pleaded guilty. The investigation requested that the defendant be taken into custody, while the defense asked for bail or a ban on certain actions.
After reviewing the materials, the court denied both sides and ruled to place the accused under home arrest until March 28. As part of this measure, he is prohibited from:
- leaving his place of residence;
- communicating with participants in the criminal case;
- sending or receiving postal shipments;
- using the internet.
