Collision Scatters Cars, Injures Two Near Yaroslavl

Two drivers were injured in a severe accident on the southwestern bypass road near Yaroslavl. The incident occurred at around 8:30 PM near house No. 10 on Novoselov Street in Ivnyaki, where a Chevrolet and a Mazda collided.
«As a result, the drivers of the cars — a man and a woman — were injured. In connection with the accident, a decision has been made to initiate an administrative offense case and conduct an administrative investigation under Article 12.24 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation,» police commented.
According to updated information from the Yaroslavl police, a 35-year-old Yaroslavl resident received one-time medical assistance, while a 42-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and prescribed outpatient treatment.
Under Article 12.24, for violating traffic rules or vehicle operation rules that cause light or moderate harm to health, the penalty can include license suspension for up to one and a half years.
Judging by footage from the accident scene, the cars were scattered across the road. Both vehicles were seriously damaged.
On 27 January, Yaroslavl residents faced multi-kilometer traffic jams due to snowfall. The congestion affected major thoroughfares: Tormoznoye, Suzdalskoye Highway, Frunze and Moskovsky Avenues, and Kalinina Street.
