At 38 Zavodskaya Street in Yekaterinburg, a dormitory belonging to a college was flooded. Water filled rooms from the first to the fifth floors.

Students humorously noted that the flooded floor spared them from cleaning duties.

A witness reported that the cause was a burst in the heating batteries, which were quickly shut off. «The batteries burst, and they were turned off immediately. Now it»s unclear where the students living in the dormitory will stay; they«re not saying anything. For now, we»re staying with those who have dry rooms. We moved the equipment out right away,« shared a student.

Students have faced similar accidents before. Earlier, pipe bursts occurred in the college building itself on January 21, 24, and 30.

The dormitory manager refused to comment on the incident.

Communal accidents in the city continue. In another multi-story building on January 12, hot water flooded the basement, leading to a fire in the wiring of the electrical panel. Even after pumping out the water on January 20, the room continued to flood. Additionally, around New Year«s, a large-scale flood of sewage occurred in the »Twins« residential complex in Uralmash.
