18-year-old Voronezh sambo fighter Alexandra Lalakchina, who was found dead on January 24, was planning to go to a training camp with the Russian national team in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region, shortly before her death. This was reported to Voronezh1.ru by her coach Stanislav Savolokin.
According to the coach, Sasha was a hardworking and resilient athlete who achieved high results.
“We didn«t communicate much, only during training and competitions, she always behaved very modestly, was responsive and friendly. Even when it was very hard for her, she didn»t show it. There were sports injuries — she overcame them, recovered, and continued training. We had high hopes for her in the future and were preparing for high-level competitions,” Savolokin said.
He also added that if Lalakchina had any problems, they were unlikely to be related to sports — she didn«t talk about such things to her coach.
Alexandra Lalakchina had been practicing sambo since childhood and was a candidate for master of sports. The athlete spent the New Year holidays on the mat: literally two weeks before her death — from January 6 to 9 — she was at a training camp in Balashov, Saratov Region.
