Chita Garage Fire Victim Identified as Truck Driver

The identity of the man whose remains were found on January 19 by firefighters during the dismantling and watering down of structures at the burning garage boxes on Kutuzovsky Proyezd in Chita has been established. This was reported on January 22 to a correspondent of Chita.Ru by the press service of the Russian Emergency Ministry«s Main Directorate for the Transbaikal Territory.
The garage boxes caught fire at night. Eight units from five fire and rescue stations in Chita were dispatched to the scene. When the first firefighters arrived, the roof of the building was fully ablaze. An increased fire rank was declared. According to a witness, a car wash operated in the burned building. According to 2GIS, the building at 1 Kutuzovsky Proyezd houses an auto service and a billiard club. Besides the body, the frames of two passenger cars and a truck were found in the burned structure.
The victim was a 39-year-old truck driver. He was sleeping in a temporary shelter. At the scene, employees of the Emergency Ministry, police, and the Russian Investigative Committee worked. However, according to Chita.Ru, a criminal version of the man«s death is not being considered.
Meanwhile, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry«s Directorate for the Transbaikal Territory noted that investigators from the Investigative Committee are conducting a check into the incident. The editorial office of Chita.Ru has requested a comment from them.
