Child drowns in Southern Urals well after school

A path runs next to the open well where the boy fell.
The well in which a nine-year-old boy drowned in Nizhnyaya Petrovsk was located next to a path, covered with a piece of linoleum and drifted with snow. This was reported by a source to 74.RU.

The deceased boy was a third-grade student.
The alarm was raised by the mother of the third-grader when he did not return from school. Around 3:30 PM, she contacted the police, and a post about the missing child appeared in a local public group.

The manhole is a couple of meters from the road.
The manhole where the child was found is literally a couple of meters from the road on Yuzhnaya Street, and a path runs past it. Probably, the boy did not take the road but decided to take a shortcut and turned onto the path, where there was a deadly trap.

The well was filled with water.
The deceased child was from a large family; the parents are raising two younger children.
The regional prosecutor«s office reported that an inspection has been launched into the compliance by officials with the requirements of legislation in the housing and utilities sector. And the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case for causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties (Part 2, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Earlier, the government of Chelyabinsk Region reported that the well was filled with groundwater. Preliminary, it is ownerless, not listed on the balance sheet of utility enterprises. Tomorrow, a commission from the Ministry of Housing and Utilities is traveling to Nizhnyaya Petrovsk.
