Chibis: 'Can't write off all' in Arctic tourist case

Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis commented at a press conference for journalists on the situation with the missing tourist during the January weekend.
According to him, there is no new information on the woman«s whereabouts yet.
He also noted that authorities plan to discuss new requirements for guides to enhance tourist safety.
“You can«t write it all off and say these are unsafe services. Various situations occur, and people, unfortunately, drown, although swimming seems like a simple leisure activity. Therefore, it»s important to be careful and attentive.”
The investigation and court will determine who is guilty of violating safety rules.
Recall that rescuers suspended the search for the tourist who disappeared during an extreme water activity in early January. Previously, a rescue training manager, a former officer of the Russian Navy (VMF), told what impact the tragedy had on the winter recreation industry.
On how demand for ice floating in the region changed after the tragedy, read in our article. Also, we told about the guide who let people into the water in a dangerous river.
