Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis commented at a press conference for journalists on the situation with the missing tourist during the January weekend.

According to him, there is no new information on the woman«s whereabouts yet.

He also noted that authorities plan to discuss new requirements for guides to enhance tourist safety.

“You can«t write it all off and say these are unsafe services. Various situations occur, and people, unfortunately, drown, although swimming seems like a simple leisure activity. Therefore, it»s important to be careful and attentive.”

The investigation and court will determine who is guilty of violating safety rules.
