A section of a street in Chelyabinsk's Leninsky District has been closed to traffic due to a major water leak that flooded the roadway early Tuesday morning.

A section of Novorossiyskaya Street was blocked due to a utility flood, the Chelyabinsk State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GAI) reported on the morning of Tuesday, February 3.
Traffic controllers manually redirected drivers away from the flooded street section.

According to the GAI, water spilled onto the roadway due to a water main break near house No. 84 on Novorossiyskaya Street. Traffic had to be restricted on the section from the intersection with Liza Chaikina Street (near the ChTPZ Palace of Culture) to Mashinostroiteley Street. Heavy traffic jams are accumulating in the vicinity of the accident. Traffic controllers are working on the section.
«After the work is completed, traffic will be fully restored,» the GAI assured.
