On the night of January 30, the ceiling collapsed in an apartment on 6th Zapadnaya Street in a two-story building where an elderly woman lived. The incident occurred in the living room. Fortunately, there were no casualties. This was reported by the regional prosecutor«s office.

According to the supervisory authority, the house was built in 1962 and consists of eight apartments housing 12 people. In 2018, the two-story building was declared unsafe and slated for demolition. The residents were supposed to be relocated in 2021.

«In this regard, the Kirovsky District Prosecutor»s Office has initiated an inspection of compliance with the housing rights of citizens. Based on the results, the issue of filing a lawsuit to compel the authorities to immediately relocate the residents of this house will be decided. Currently, all residents have been offered to move to safe housing from the flexible housing stock,« — added the prosecutor»s office.

Investigators have also taken an interest in the incident. They have opened a criminal case.

Last week, NGS55.RU reported that in the Leninsky District of Omsk, the ceiling of another house collapsed.
