Causes of Freight Train Derailment Near Bogoroditsk Identified

The preliminary cause of a train derailment involving four empty tankers near Bogoroditsk has been announced, with no injuries and train services restored.

On the evening of January 21, around 23:40 MSK, on the section between Zhdanka and Tovarkovo, four empty tankers of a freight train derailed. The reasons why the cars left the tracks have now become known. This was reported by the head of the region, Dmitry Milyaev, on his Telegram channel.
No one was injured in the derailment.
Due to the accident, delays were expected for six passenger trains traveling on the routes from Uzlovaya to Yelets and from Yelets to Ozherelye.
Around 1 a.m. MSK, a repair train arrived at the derailment site from Uzlovaya-1 station. In addition, two more trains were en route from Tula-1 and Yelets stations.
The preliminary cause of the derailment of four train cars was identified as a drop in pressure in the brake line of one of the cars. 31 cars from the train were moved to the station in Bogoroditsk.
By 6 a.m. MSK, restoration work on the railway was completed, and trains could continue their journey without delays.
