On Sunday, 1 February, a traffic accident involving two Lada Granta cars occurred at the intersection of Goncharenko and Barbus streets in Chelyabinsk.
A second car came to a stop very close to a residential building.

The force of the impact was so great that both cars were thrown onto the pedestrian area.
According to the traffic police, a 63-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was injured in the incident.
Local residents and eyewitnesses have repeatedly pointed out the danger of this intersection, where accidents often occur due to the absence of a dedicated signal phase for left turns.
“The Grants flew apart like billiard balls. This intersection has long needed a separate traffic light phase for turning left; there are constant accidents,” commented one of the motorists.
