Carbon monoxide poisons three, including children, in Stavropol

Yesterday, January 25, another incident was recorded in which several people, including children, were poisoned by gas. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the circumstances.
The Investigative Committee of Stavropol Territory reported that it has organized an inspection into the carbon monoxide poisoning of people. The incident occurred on January 25 in a house on Soviet Street in the village of Mashtak-Kulak, Turkmen District. A gas leak occurred here.
The preliminary cause is mechanical blocking of the chimney. Three people were affected, including children aged 11 and 13. All received necessary assistance, and currently, there is no threat to their lives.
«Currently, the investigator is carrying out a set of necessary inspection measures aimed at establishing the circumstances of what happened. Based on the results of all inspection measures, a procedural decision will be made,» noted the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Stavropol Territory.
Residents of the region are reminded that when using gas equipment, precautionary measures must be observed. Installation, connection, and maintenance should only be carried out by gas service specialists.
Recall that recently in Stavropol, another household experiment almost ended in tragedy. On Ryazanskaya Street, six people, including a child, were poisoned by carbon monoxide. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but the situation could have ended much worse. As reported by the Stavropol administration, the cause of the emergency was unauthorized interference with the boiler«s operation. Residents damaged the chimney structure, causing combustion products to enter directly into the apartment.
