The collision of a bus with a bus stop occurred yesterday morning in the area of the Officers« House, at the intersection of Budyonnovsky and Bolshaya Sadovaya streets.
Alan Bolataev, owner of the Southern Transport Company, whose bus No. 27 was involved in the incident, explained the accident as due to poor snow removal.
«The roadsides were not cleared. The bus hit the brakes, slid, and knocked down the bus stop and a pole,» he stated.
However, the Rostov administration refuted this version, pointing to information from the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
They claim that the driver of bus route No. 27, when releasing the handbrake, collided with bus No. 83, after which it was thrown onto the pavilion and a pole.
«The accident occurred when bus No. 27 was already pulling away from the bus stop. We note that the road near the stop was cleared, as can be seen in the photo from the scene,» explained the mayor«s office.
Alan Bolataev also noted that the second bus, route No. 83, was practically undamaged, it was only «slightly grazed.»
As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
